Come To Coalville On July 8!
On July 8 the Evanston/Mt. View Ranger District of the Wasatch Cache National Forest will be holding a 6PM meeting in Coalville, UT to discuss grazing on the West Fork Blacks Fork. This will be the first meeting of the scoping process which will lead to a draft and then Environmental Impact Statement. The West Fork Blacks Fork allotment, almost exclusively within the High Uintas Wilderness, is going to be the test as to whether the Forest Service will begin an objective and honest review of sheep grazing practices on the Uintas and begin the long awaited and necessary sheep grazing phaseout, or whether the agency will simply turn its collective head and continue sheep grazing on the Uintas for decades and decades to come!
Soon we will be providing you details and hope you will join us in Coalville on this first step. This scoping effort is important to set the tone and show that folks care about the ecological values of the Uintas. Let your wild voice be heard early and often in this process.
