MEMBER POETRY

We’d like to share this poem by Pleasant Grove member Delna Macfarlane. She wrote it in the
forest country of northern Idaho.

TREACHERY

Strong stately pines
standing in a solid row

Carried the sound
of the murmuring breeze,

While not sixty feet behind
on an almost vacant slope

Stumps shouted into our
consciousness -- “CLEAR CUT.”
